A Hidden River Ranch Engagement Session

Well we have officially hit crazy weather for July! It is so rare for it to rain this month when usually it is a hot and dry season. After keeping an eye on the forecast for days leading up to the session, I finally made the call to go ahead with the session as it looked like it wasn't going to rain. But in Texas, the weather can drastically change every ten minutes, and that is exactly what it did on Sunday night!

We had the session at Hidden River Ranch, and of course, it started DOWNPOURING right when we pull up to the venue. After talking on the phone with Aaron and Maddie, they decided to go for it anyways and thank goodness, the rain stopped 10 minutes later, just in time for our session to start.

Needless to say, it was VERY muddy, but it didn't phase Aaron and Maddie one bit, they were up for the adventure. As my husband was driving us from one photo spot to the next, I had asked him to drive in the grass so we could get closer to the river. Bad call on my part! As he tried to reverse, we of course got the truck stuck in the mud. Whoops! I take full blame.While we waited for my brother to bring his truck to pull us out, I decided to make the best of it and get as many pictures by the river as we could!

By the end of our session, all of our feet and shoes were COVERED in mud, but it sure was worth it! Enjoy some favorites from our session!
